Fran Varady III

The police investigate further and discover that Freddy aka Max was involved the people smuggling and he is arrested. It emerges that the fire bomber was Trevor, Freddys barman, who pushed Ion under a train. But he dies of his burns so he cannot be prosecuted. There was no evidence of his pushing Ion so the boy's death was judged an accident. Fran is very upset. It looks like both Ion and his brother died because they came to England. Noone knows where Alexander, the brother is, and Wayne Parry, who is a policeman and friendly with Fran (though she finds him annoying) thinks that maybe Alexander died en route and the traffickers sent a note to his parents to conceal his death. Freddy's wife Denise runs the pub for a time but she leaves the area and Fran loses touch with her. It comes out that the pizza place is indeed a front for illegally importing wine, and selling cheap wine as quality stuff, after re labelling it. Jimmy's partner picked him to run the restaurant because he knows Jimmy is too stupid to work that out. He is arrested and Jimmy is finally exonerated. He decides that he might go back to running a baked spud cafe. Fran is depressed but she meets Marty, who had adapted the Hound of the Baskervilles and he asks if she would be interested if he does another play. She says yes.
