Fran Varady Part II

Fran has ambitions to be an actor and she gets involved in an amatuer performance of a Sherlock Holmes story. She is friendly with a couple who run a local pub, and they sometimes put on shows on their small stage. She persuades Ganesh to take part as well, as Watson. He is a bit worried because he's afraid of dogs and the play is The Hound of the Baskervilles. A young Irish lad owns a big dog who will play the hound. Ganesh is sure it will dislike him. Fran notes that Ganesh rather likes the idea of being in a play, as he has a dull job in his uncle's shop... Ion turns up again to speak to her, and is nervous still. He tells her that when he was driven into the UK by lorry, he saw a man whom the others called Max. He was rather fat and Ion has seen him around the Pizza restaurant. Fran does not know of anyone in the Pizza place who is fat and called Max. She tells him she will look around but she is busy. She has her job and rehearsals for the Hound of the Baskervilles. Coming home one day she sees Ion and follows him, trying to catch him up. He goes down into the Tube and she sees him fall or be pushed under a train. He is killed.
